Headteacher's Welcome
It is an absolute pleasure to welcome you to The Lion Works school. We are a small, unique setting that ensures our students are at the centre of everything we do and embrace our core values; Academic rigour, Resilience and Community engagement (ARC) to enable our students to have the opportunity to achieve the best possible outcomes for their future.
I have over 20 years experience in a range of educational settings and as the Headteacher feel extremely privileged to be working alongside a dedicated team and supportive community that are proud of forming strong relationships with both students and families. We pride ourselves on having high aspirations and expectations and strive to develop each individual's interests and celebrate success, whilst meeting the needs of all of our students, ultimately, wanting them to have that sense of belonging and excitement of wanting to come to school to gain opportunities and learn.
We offer an academic and vocational specialist learning provision across KS3, KS4 and Post 16 aiming to reduce barriers to enable successful learning experiences and outcomes. There are a variety of routes a student can take, which include GCSE’s, BTEC and other accredited qualifications whilst building confidence, improving wellbeing, enabling self-regulation and increasing attendance to equip our students for everyday life and the opportunities that await them.
Our building is full of life and has a wealth of resources to spark interest and ignite that passion to achieve, so if you feel your child would flourish in our setting, please call our office to arrange a visit and I would be delighted to show you around our wonderful school and 6th form.

Our school staff team
The school is led by an experienced and committed leadership team who are supported in their work by faculty leaders, teachers higher level teaching assistants and one-to-one teaching assistants.
Many of our team have extensive specialist backgrounds and bring their wealth of knowledge to a small independent setting. Some colleagues have joined the school after many years in mainstream settings and bring with them an up to date and in depth curriculum knowledge that allows the school to offer a rigorous and rewarding academic curriculum.
