Headteacher's Welcome

I am proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school on its journey to provide the best possible academic, vocational and pastoral outcomes for all the students in our care.

I have a long and well-established career in Education that has allowed me to develop my skills and expertise in a wide range of settings and in multiple roles. This has given me a clear perspective on what works well, school improvement and leadership. I have always focused my decision making on keeping children and young people safe and effectively equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

We are a unique, specialist provider that holds its relational approach at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated and committed team focus on meeting the needs of all of our students and to provide them with a safe, emotionally supportive environment to enable them to be in the best place possible to learn – both physically and mentally. We can be flexible and creative in our curriculum offer and this means that student voices, interests and needs can be incorporated into a more tailored and bespoke programme of study.

We understand that by the time you are considering specialist provision like ours that you may well have already had a difficult time navigating the education and SEND system and that your child may already have experienced many societal, educational and emotional barriers to being the best they can be. We can help change that by allowing them to enjoy positive relationships and experiences and build resilience and success through this supportive and specialist environment.

We have high aspirations for ourselves and all our students and expect them to work towards fulfilling their potential. With your help, we will advocate, support and maintain our strong belief in their ability to achieve success. This could be through the more traditional academic route of GCSEs and other qualifications, as well as improving their wellbeing, self-regulation, attendance and engagement with learning and their levels of independence. Our nurturing, community ethos, small teaching groups and our strong focus on personal development though our ARC of success enables us to maximise outcomes and keep our students at the centre of everything we do.

If you think your child would benefit from our creative and imaginative approach to education, please do arrange a visit so you can see what the school could offer your child and feel confident that we will be here for them (and you) every step of the way.

We hope to welcome you soon.

Our school staff team

The school is lead by an experienced and committed leadership team who are supported in their work by faculty leaders, teachers higher level teaching assistants and one-to-one teaching assistants.

Many of our team have extensive specialist backgrounds and bring their wealth of knowledge to a small independent setting. Some colleagues have joined the school after many years in mainstream settings and bring with them an up to date and in depth curriculum knowledge that allows the school to offer a rigorous and rewarding academic curriculum.
