A Sad Farewell to Headteacher Gill

It is with a great deal of sadness that I say goodbye to my time as a headteacher of The Lion Works School.

Every single day I have been here I have learned something new and it has been a real privilege to be able to get to know and spend time in the company of all the young people here. They inspire me every day with their resilience, their behaviour and attitudes and often, their sense of humour too! Every student is well supported by our wonderful team (many of whom I have had the pleasure to recruit myself) and we are now well on the way with our school improvement journey. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and our staff and students for making this such a truly memorable experience.

I am looking forward to not working quite so much in the future, but I will forever be indebted to the school for sharing with me its powerful stories of triumph over adversity and I will be avidly following the school’s and students’ continued progress and exploits through Social Media channels.

I am confident that I am leaving the school in the safe and capable hands of Justine Collinson and wish her every success and just as much joy, happiness and laughter that my role as Head Teacher here has brought to me.

In the words of a parent that I will always treasure as an exemplification of our ethos; may this school continue to be “supportive, kind and fun”.

Through these actions, great things happen!

Have a great Summer everyone, and my absolute best wishes for the future. Gill.
